Salary: £41,999 pending 2024/25 pay award

Position: Permanent, Full Time, 37 Hours per week

Location: Birmingham/ Hybrid

Citizen is on the hunt for the right person to help us achieve our goals of strengthening the Citizen brand by improving customer relationships and allowing the power of digital communication to help drive our messages across social media and the various digital platforms. In housing you can make a real difference, the role of Digital Communications Specialist will involve:

  • Working with colleagues across the business to ensure our employer brand is appropriately demonstrated on the relevant channels, and that we tell the story of our culture effectively.
  • Reporting on outcomes and not just ‘reach' with effective and credible digital analysis, across all channels and campaigns, adjusting strategy where necessary to achieve maximum impact
  • Leading the effective use of digital channels across the organisation and act as the go to person for social media performance and channel strategy for day-to-day and campaigns, based on key business goals, competitor research, key messaging and audience identification
  • Creating and curating content, including copy, images and multi-media (video, podcasts, animation) across paid, earned owned and shared media
  • Building sustainable online communities for a range of audiences, coaching and supporting colleagues throughout the business to act as ambassadors online
  • Developing and implementing a calendar of content that's consistent with our brand
  • Working with external developers to build upon on existing or new platforms

As a Digital Communications Specialist we need you to have:

  • Experience of producing digital organic marketing for website, email, social media, paid social and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
  • In-depth knowledge of mainstream social media channels – including how they work and what makes them tick to get the right engagement for our objectives
  • Knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics etc) optimising Google Adwords campaigns
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (and any other applicable coding tools)
  • Experience of developing social media strategies to support brands and campaigns
  • Solid professional experience working in a social media or digital communications focussed role

We would be really excited if you have:

  • Educated to degree level or similar qualification in a relevant field
  • Previous experience in the Housing sector
