Responsibilities:

  • You will protect & promote the well-being of young people aged 12+.
  • You will conduct thorough assessments of young people who may be experiencing abuse, neglect, or may be close to family breakdown inc. beyond parental control.
  • Once assessed, you will develop and implement plans tailored to address the specific needs, identified.
  • You will aim to help parents tackle the challenges in their lives that may impact on their parenting, with the core focus being that children & young people, remain in their care.
  • You may work in conjunction with other professionals and agencies involved in the care and support of adolescents, including schools, police, healthcare providers, and voluntary organisations.

Family and Adolescent Safeguarding teams share the resource of the adult mental health workers, domestic abuse practitioners and officers, and substance misuse workers.

Our approach is about more than simply introducing social workers; it is about creating a structure of truly integrated practice, this includes formal and informal group case discussion/supervision.

This approach promotes the sharing of different perspectives to create a more informed understanding of how to help families and create an attainable plan to support them.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children and families in a social work setting, for a minimum of three years.
  • A degree in social work with completion of ASYE.
  • Registration with Social Work England as a Qualified Social Worker.
  • Valid UK Drivers License, with use of own car.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks and develop effective intervention plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.
