Business Continuity and Resilience Advisor

Minimum Requirement:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Business Continuity Planner & Resilience Advisor would be:

  • The provision of advice and guidance to support the delivery of enterprise resilience and business continuity for NWS accordance with HMG requirements and relevant good practice, in support of NWS strategy in achieving its mission.
  • The provision of ongoing support to the incident response function for NWS operations outside of the Nuclear Licensed Site, to support the business priorities in response to incidents, risks and issues.
  • To support, development and maintenance of business continuity plans, business impact analyses, disaster recovery plans and related documentation sets through engagement and collaborative working with relevant stakeholders.
  • The provision of support, advice and guidance to functional teams/leads regarding business
  • continuity risks to information, facilities, reputation and other critical business as-sets.
  • To support to the delivery of resilience exercising to validate resilience and business continuity arrangements and build knowledge across NWS.
  • To support incident response personnel in acting on the outcomes and lessons learnt from exercises, to improve the robustness of resilience planning and ensuring that exercises continually develop to support the improved resilience of NWS business delivery.

Essential:

  • Professional qualification in Resilience, Business Continuity, Risk Management or related topic area or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the development of a Business Continuity programme aligned to ISO22301 or a resilience programme aligned to ISO22316 in a corporate or highly regulated environment.
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement, identifying key stakeholders and forging strong relationships to deliver business objectives and outcomes, using appropriate channels, to ensure they are engaged, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests.
  • Experience of supporting business continuity and resilience inspections, audits, re-views etc. and to monitor performance and target improvement activities.
  • A good understanding of implementation of enterprise resilience and business continuity best practice.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in accordance with Enterprise Resilience, Business Continuity and Emergency Management standards, frameworks and good practice guidelines.
  • Understanding of the implications of enterprise resilience and business continuity and their application within a civil nuclear or other CNI organisation.
  • Experience of using project management techniques and supporting the effective delivery of a business continuity programme in high profile projects and pro-grammes.
  • Experience of writing procedures, drafting reports, and methods of providing advice and guidance to staff.
  • Experienced in the delivery of briefings to staff and supplier personnel at all levels of an organisation.

Desirable:

  • Nuclear Industry Experience
  • Knowledge of the Security Assessment Principles for the Civil Nuclear Industry and HMG Security functional standards and their application with regards to resilience and business continuity.
  • Experience of supporting the development and delivery of resilience/business continuity training and exercising programmes.
  • Knowledge of the approach to the assessment of cyber resilience standards within the supply chain.
  • Membership of a professional institute / industry body.
  • Diploma/Certificate in Business Continuity Management or Enterprise Resilience
