SEND Teaching Assistant
Are you an experienced TA with a passion for working with children with complex needs and non-verbal communication?
Tradewind are currently seeking a dedicated TA to work one-on-one with a child in EYFS at a primary school in Blackburn. The child has Autism and requires some personal care which involves nappy changing. This is a full-time, ongoing role, working 5 days a week, 8.30am- 3.30pm. with daily pay rates £85-95.
As the TA for this child, you will be responsible for providing individualised support and guidance, utilising a variety of communication methods to help the child succeed in the classroom and beyond. You will be working closely with the child's teacher, as well as other professionals involved in their care, to develop and implement a personalised education plan.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with complex needs as well as a strong understanding of non-verbal communication methods. Additionally, you should have a positive attitude and be patient.
To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:
- Qualified to NVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent) or higher
- Experience of working with SEND
- Experience of the National Curriculum
- Knowledge of the intervention strategies
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
- Legal right to work in the UK
