Role Overview:
As an SEN Teacher, you will have the rewarding opportunity to work with students with a range of special educational needs, helping them to thrive both academically and socially. You will be instrumental in creating personalised learning plans and fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Tailored Learning Plans: Design and deliver engaging lessons that are tailored to meet the individual needs of students with special educational needs.
- Create an Inclusive Classroom: Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported, valued, and encouraged to succeed.
- Personalise Teaching: Adapt teaching strategies and resources to ensure students with diverse needs can access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
- Monitor Progress: Regularly assess and track student progress, providing clear, constructive feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with Support Staff: Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to deliver a coordinated approach to each student's education.
- Engage in School Life: Participate in extra-curricular activities and school events to provide a well-rounded educational experience for students.
Requirements:
- A degree in Education or a related subject, with a specialism or experience in Special Educational Needs.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working with children with a variety of SEN needs, including but not limited to ASD, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for supporting students to achieve their full potential.
- Willingness to engage in professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
