CNC Machinist

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist (milling and turning) and looking for an exciting new role! This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a cutting-edge company working in the renewables sector.

The company is on a significant upward trajectory and will soon be offering global clients groundbreaking technology to significantly reduce their energy costs!

You can play a huge part in this by being at the forefront of the R&D process producing metallic components either on milling or turning machines. No days will be the same as there is low repetition on machined parts and lots of changes and tweaks to components that then need machining. Ability to use manual and full CNC machines is required.

The company is ideally seeking an experienced CNC Machinist, but will also be looking to hire a more junior person who is looking to build on their CNC knowledge.

Key responsibilities of CNC Machinist:

  • Set and operate manual and CNC milling / turning machines.
  • Adjust controls and tool settings to keep part dimensions within specified tolerances
  • Work from CAD designs and specifications to complete various machining operations using information such as dimensions, tolerances, quantities and any special instructions
  • Create, set and document work holding process
  • Select correct tooling
  • Design and manufacture fixtures
  • Responsible for own quality using required hand tools

CNC Machinist knowledge and skills required:

  • 5+ years experience in a CNC environment (R&D experience would be advantageous)
  • Ability to use measuring equipment and interpret drawings
  • Working knowledge of CNC machines and ability to set up tooling on the machines
  • Ability to use simple gauges or instruments
  • Working knowledge of maths in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
