We are seeking a Computer Science Lecturer with a passion for teaching and the ability to inspire our learners. The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with a strong technical background in computer science and a proven track record of motivating students.

  • Location: East London
  • Salary Range: £24,872 - £26,100 (unqualified teacher), £27,591 - £43,440 (qualified teacher) + Market Supplement

Day to day of the role of a Computer Science Lecturer :

  • Teach Computer Science from Level 1 to Level 5, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all students.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons that incorporate a range of teaching strategies and technologies.
  • Assess, monitor, support and record student progress.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the subject area and related teaching methods.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Computer Science curriculum.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and learning outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications needed for the Computer Science Lecturer role :

  • Qualified teacher status (PGCE, QTS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of teaching experience in Computer Science.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge in C#, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CISCO (CCNA Qualification), CompTIA.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and maintain student interest in computer science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in a Further Education (FE) College setting.
  • Experience working in an educational establishment.
