- Salary Range: £24,872 - £26,100 (unqualified teacher), £27,591 - £43,440 (qualified teacher) + Market Supplement
Day to day of the role of a Computer Science Lecturer :
- Teach Computer Science from Level 1 to Level 5, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all students.
- Prepare and deliver lessons that incorporate a range of teaching strategies and technologies.
- Assess, monitor, support and record student progress.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the subject area and related teaching methods.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to students.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Computer Science curriculum.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and learning outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications needed for the Computer Science Lecturer role :
- Qualified teacher status (PGCE, QTS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of teaching experience in Computer Science.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge in C#, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CISCO (CCNA Qualification), CompTIA.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and maintain student interest in computer science.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working in a Further Education (FE) College setting.
- Experience working in an educational establishment.
