A service orientated company based in Stevenage are now looking to recruit an Assistant Procurement Manager to join their busy team on a temporary basis, for a period of 3 months.

Assistant Procurement Manager - Job Overview

As Assistant Procurement Manager your duties will include;

  • This role would focus particularly on the HRA Housing Function and would be the HRA procurement expert within the procurement team.
  • To support the Procurement Manager in providing the procurement function across the business by helping to develop procurement best practice.
  • Continually review and revise processes to maximise benefits to the business in terms of quality and cost.
  • Support the Procurement Manager in the corporate purchasing issues and extend purchasing expertise and understanding throughout the wider business.
  • To provide guidance to staff on the legislative framework governing procurement including the EU Procurement Directives, the Remedies Directive and Contract Standing Orders mitigating the risk of legal challenge.
  • Assist the Procurement Manager to maintain a corporate overview of spend patterns, including issues of aggregation and contract compliance.

Assistant Procurement Manager - Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience working within the public sector
  • Knowledge of PCR 2015
  • Strong PC skills including databases and all Microsoft programmes
  • Proven ability to communicate with people at different levels
  • Customer focused, with empathy for customer problems and a real desire to help people on a daily basis
  • Able to start a role immediately
