Support the fire safety and wellbeing of Clarion customers and residents and the safety of the buildings they occupy.

The role is overseeing new build development schemes and working closely on strategic projects. Managing from the design stage, evaluating the contractors work on site, employer's requirements and registering high risk buildings.

Must have Building Safety Act knowledge/experience essential and the IFE qualification. Extensive knowledge of the industry and experience of working in a fast paced and commercial department. Ability to roll out any new regulation updates.

No direct reports.

Working in the office 2 days a week and site visits for audits.

What You'll Do:

  • Champion Safety: Your mission? Safeguard our residents and properties. You'll be the go-to expert, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with our Senior Health and Safety Manager, Group Building Safety Team, and Development Directorate.
  • Design Excellence: Provide expert advice on fire safety for new developments, ensuring they meet statutory requirements.
  • Audit and Assurance: Lead audits, review processes, and liaise with external stakeholders to maintain top-notch fire policy compliance.
  • Technical Guru: Be the resident fire safety expert, guiding operational staff in areas like development, building safety management, and risk assessment.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with government documents, providing technical updates to our Development Directorate.
  • Project Support: Assist project teams in reviewing fire strategies for individual schemes.
  • Track Record: Monitor and update our HRRB tracker, ensuring we're always on top of safety requirements.
  • Continuous Learning: Arrange CPD updates for the Development Directorate.
  • On-Site Inspections: Conduct site audits on live projects.

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety (Desirable)
  • European Diploma or Equivalent in Fire Safety (Essential)
  • IFE Graduate Membership (Essential)
  • AIFireE Membership (Desirable)
  • Experience: Worked in construction, facilities management, or social housing (Essential)
  • Fire Safety Savvy: Understand fire safety, especially in social housing (Essential)
  • Construction Know-How: Solid grasp of housing construction and fire systems (Essential)
  • Record Keeping: Skilled in maintaining accurate compliance records (Essential)
  • Legal Literacy: Knowledge of fire safety legislation, regulations, and best practices (Essential)
  • People Skills: Excellent interpersonal abilities for stakeholder engagement (Essential)
  • Willingness to Travel: Nationwide travel with a full UK driving license (Essential)
