Basic Salary £55,000-£60,000 dependant on experience with 25 days a holiday.

Our client a reputable and well-established trade body in financial services sector with 45 member firms is currently seeking to appoint a Head of Policy to their small team of 3.

If you have excellent experience as Senior Policy Advisor, Policy Manager or Head of Policy in the financial services sector - investments, insurance, savings, mutuals, friendly societies, credit unions, building societies, banks, co-operatives, pensions, regulators, regulation FCSA or PRA

The Role of Head of Policy

To propose, develop and deliver the agreed policy and strategy of the association, under the direction of the association board.

To actively promote the association as a trade body to all relevant parties ensuring its continued independence and to provide support to all members of the association

Responsible for Regulatory, legislative and governance matters affecting the members of the association

Key Responsibilities:

To have and maintain a working knowledge of Financial Services and Not-for-Profit operations, including legislation, regulations, accounting and taxation.

To receive enquiries from members regarding such issues and to personally or from external sources resolve these.

To research, analyse and circulate members on the impact of current and proposed legislation

To attend relevant Board and Committee meetings, and training and networking events as appropriate, and prepare papers and actions as appropriate.

To manage and maintain the Association Corporate Governance Code, including to support members in delivering and demonstrating good practice, and to report to the Board.

Where appropriate, to act as a link between the regulators and members.

To provide a point of contact for the Association in relation to relevant external enquiries from regulators and government officials.

To keep members informed on relevant regulatory, governance and legislative developments.

To support the Chief Executive in implementing the plans set by the Association Board and incorporate into the strategy and business plan, including where appropriate managing external advisers, and attending meetings with government, regulators and the media.

Person Specification

Excellent experience as Senior Policy Advisor, Policy Manager or Head of Policy in the financial services sector - investments, insurance, savings, mutuals, friendly societies, credit unions, building societies, banks, co-operatives, pensions, regulators, regulation FCSA or PRA

Ability to lobby effectively on industry issues.

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

Positive attitude and driven to deliver successful outcomes.
