Health & Safety Manager – Cheshire up to £50,000

Ballyvesey Holdings is the privately owned parent company of a wide range of trading subsidiaries.

Established in 1970, the group's main activities are centered around transport and logistics, truck sales and aftersales support, trailer manufacturing and spare parts sales, transport industry services, construction equipment sales, and property rental and development.

Key Health and Safety Manager Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and maintain company ISO 45001 health and safety management system, training programs, and procedures in line with current legislation.
  • Coordinate Health and Safety management systems within the Company.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support on current legislation to ensure the implementation of Health & Safety policy & procedures and associated safe systems of work.
  • Design and develop written health and safety procedures. Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations laws or reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for the co-coordination of risk assessment activities including record keeping.
  • Conducting necessary health and safety training.
  • Work hand in hand with the management team to identify safety issues, develop, and build effective relationships with managers and employees to support H&S compliance.
  • Develop and maintain the anticipated ISO 14001 accreditation system.
  • Investigate accidents, liaise with the company's insurers and engage with the enforcing authority where necessary.

Health and Safety Manager Experience and skills required:

  • Relevant Health and Safety Qualification (NEBOSH NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is expected)
  • Previous experience working in the Transport/Automotive/Commercial Dealership industry.
  • Proven experience of working within a Health and Safety position
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO 45001 Health & Safety systems and good knowledge in problem solving techniques.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office software.
  • ISO 14001 Certification is advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with line management.
