What You Need to Know AS AN PURCHASE LEDGER CLERK IN THIS COMPANY:

Salary: £25,000 per annum

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Location: Office-based role in York City Centre with one day per week remote work

Benefits: 23 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, healthcare schemes provided

Accessibility: Easily accessible location via public transport, walking, or driving

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN PURCHASE LEDGER CLERK:

  • Ensuring compliance with company processes, controls, and policies for purchase ledger transactions.
  • Efficiently conducting month-end accounting procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
  • Resolving queries using problem-solving abilities.
  • Handling general administration and non-routine payment processing.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties assigned by the Group Financial Controller.
  • Proactively suggesting ideas for performance and efficiency improvement.

    • Previous Experience: Proven track record in a high-volume purchase ledger environment.
  • Numeracy and Data Skills: High level of numeracy and proficiency in data manipulation.

  • IT Proficiency: Strong IT skills, including Microsoft packages like Windows, Office, Outlook, and Explorer.

  • Attitude: A self-starter with a positive, enthusiastic 'can do' attitude
