Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and collaborative Metrology Engineer to join a world leading automotive company. This contract Metrology Engineer role is based at Liverpool with travel to other manufacturing plants and offers an Umbrella rate of £25.96 per hour (Inside IR35). This contract is full time on site in Halewood and is until March 2025.
As a Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for the concept, design, development and delivery of all part quality and measurement standards data packages and equipment into the compamny's external supply base and internal manufacturing plants.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Conduct MSA / R&R activities on checking fixtures Understanding of GD&T and Measurement point creation
- Understanding of CGA measurement (Circle Grid Analysis) for formability checks and cosmetic assessments
- Extensive experience of Measurement Systems analysis (MSA)
- Extensive experience of CMM & GOM CATIA v5 & v6 experience
- Detailed GD&T knowledge for interrogation Extensive Checking fixture / gauge procurement.
- Great level of presentation skills at all levels.
- An ability to communicate to colleagues at all levels of the business
- Good MS Office suite: Word, PowerPoint and Excel and experience of Google tools.
- Driving licence and ability to travel extensively between sites.
- Flexibility - whilst Halewood (Liverpool) based, candidates would be expected to be mobile with regular travel to Gaydon and the other Press Shops anticipated and as well as occasional overseas travel.

Preferred:
- Experience of working with external service / suppliers
- Knowledge of BPA process (panel surface quality)
- Basic knowledge of the automotive industry
- Basic knowledge of Manufacturing function
- Some understanding of stamping processes Microsoft Access & VBA coding
Education
- Applicants must have either served a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, Degree level or equivalent experience in the Part Quality & Measurement Planning field
