Job description
What will you do? Make an impact!
The role is to organise and manage the site maintenance function, to ensure high plant availability and performance within approved budgets, liaising with operations staff to ensure a high level of service. This role oversees 2 sites within our organisation; Wrexham and Redditch.
- Annual strategic organisation and management of the maintenance function including in house maintenance team, plus contract staff, to achieve an efficient maintenance function, while adhering to all relevant legislation and site procedures
- Review plant defects, developing proposals for modifications where appropriate, to maintain plant reliability and availability
- Oversee development of Stores Systems, Management Systems, H&S procedures and the CMM system to improve the organisation of all aspects of the maintenance function
- Plan and manage planned maintenance outages, including specification of work, quality control and co-ordination between all parties involved
- Prepare with the site manager, site maintenance budget proposals and work within approved budgets
- Liaise with the project and operations staff to ensure that the maintenance effort is responsive to the overall needs of the business
- Participate in the Management 'Standby' rota to cover any emergency situation that may arise
- Carry out any other duties as requested by Senior Management
- Ensure compliance with the company's Quality and Environmental Management System and Health and Safety and all relevant legislation
The role
Do you have what it takes?
- Solid experience in a supervisory maintenance role within a process industry, gained in a Chemical, Waste Incineration or Power Generation environment, ideally involving steam raising plant
- Qualifications: Minimum of HND or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Able to attend site 'out of hours' to respond to emergency situations
- Experience of managing a maintenance budget and planned maintenance system
- Analytical ability and enthusiastic and competent problem solver with a practical approach to solving engineering problems
- PC literate, and capable of learning how to use new software systems
- Good communication and organizational skills, able to manage and motivate the maintenance team and contractors
- Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
- Able to cope with numerous issues simultaneously and capable of prioritising tasks accordingly
