Excellent opportunity for a Java Back-End Developer to join a well-funded innovative AI Healthtech company , developing an AI ML platform focusing on data-driven healthcare.
They have a number of problem-specific products, such as tools for bone fracture analysis from X-ray images, liver stiffness prediction from blood test results and prostate cancer diagnosis from MRI data. Their principal focus, however, is on creating the world's first cross-industry multi-modal AI platform using a combination of well-known machine learning techniques as well as their own proprietary algorithms. The platform takes a low-code/no-code approach, the vision is to enable anyone to build their own machine learning model.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be working within the Software Engineering team alongside existing engineers and data scientists, working jointly to develop and implement new features into the Java and Python backend, as well as helping to build and maintain our infrastructure and automate our development processes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and maintain core back-end functionality for the platform
Develop and maintain effective DevOps pipelines
Create and manage Docker containers
Set up and deploy to cloud-based infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
Maintain a high-quality and fully-tested code stack
Communicate and collaborate with other engineers and the wider team
Experience & Skills
3+ years of agile software engineering experience
Experience with Java, Spring Boot
Experience with Bitbucket Pipelines or other CI/CD tools
Experience with AWS or other cloud service providers
Experience with standard software development tools such as Git and Jira
Good personal and digital communication skills.
The company operates a flexible work from home remote environment, with a team meet up once each 4 to 6 weeks either in London or Cardiff.
