Horizon Teachers have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teacher to join a SEN school in Walsall on a permanent contract. The school is an independent day school for autistic children and young people aged 4 - 18 years. The role is suitable for both experienced teachers and exceptional ECTs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver personalized lessons that cater to the unique needs and abilities of secondary school students with special educational needs.
  • Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) while collaborating with support staff and specialists to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages personal growth, emotional well-being, and academic achievement.
  • Carefully track and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports to inform future interventions and support strategies.
  • Utilize effective behaviour management techniques, de-escalation strategies, and positive reinforcement approaches to create a harmonious and productive learning atmosphere
