As an Assistant Manager, you'll initially continue to handle senior-level work, but with increased responsibility on larger, more complex assignments. You'll lead these projects from planning to completion, receiving guidance and feedback to prepare for a managerial position. You will also play a key role in training and developing Trainees and Apprentices.
- Manage a portfolio of audit and non-audit clients, overseeing planning, supervision, and review processes.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, working closely with partners and other managers.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Business Tax department for the preparation and review of tax computations.
- Provide technical accounting and auditing support to the Audit Team.
- Actively contribute to staff training and development, including delivering internal courses.
- Supervise day-to-day activities of the Audit Team.
- Innovate audit processes, adding value to client engagements through new methods and approaches.
- Monitor budgets, draft bills, and report variances to partners.
- Assist in business development for the Audit function.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Qualified accountant with experience in a Chartered Practice.
- Proficient in auditing and preparing accounts for entities with a turnover of up to £40 million, including group accounts.
- Familiarity with CCH Accounts Production, CCH ProAudit, Alphatax, MS Office, Sage 50, QuickBooks, and Xero.
- Knowledge of cloud-based applications like Inflo is advantageous.
