There is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to kick start their career in education. A warm and welcoming Primary school based in Chipping Norton are currently recruiting for a SEN teaching assistant to support the children in Key Stage 1 or 2 (KS1/KS2). This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate to develop their experience within education.

A graduate with a degree graded 2:2 or above is ideal for this role and a graduate with some previous experience working with children or Psychology is desirable.

This relevant previous experience could include childcare, tutoring, helping within a nursery, in a sport setting, charity or in a similar classroom setting. Any experience or interest is supporting children with SEN would be a huge advantage for this role!

The Role:

  • As a Chipping Norton Primary School SEN teaching assistant, you will need to support pupils in a 1:1 capacity and/or in small groups.
  • Support KS1/KS2 pupils with their initial growth and development as a Primary School Teaching Assistant Support pupils with additional needs when required to help them feel comfortable.
  • Build a rapport with the Oxfordshire children and provide emotional support.
  • Work with staff to create a fun and stimulating learning environment for the pupils.
  • Supporting SEN children as a Chipping Norton Primary School - from ASD, Autism and challenging behaviour.
  • Start date September
  • Pay - £83.33 - £90

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Available to work 08:30 to 16:00, Monday to Friday
  • Recent experience working with KS1/KS2 aged children in a school or alternate environment is preferential but you must have previous experience with children in some capacity.
  • Enjoy working with children and seeing them progress with their learning
  • Already have or able to apply for an enhanced DBS
  • Either live in Chipping North or within a commutable distance
