Elevation Recruitment Group are currently recruiting a Manual Machinist on behalf of a containment solutions company based in Sheffield
**Position
: Manual Machinist
Salary: Up to £32,716 (based on experience)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Shifts: Monday-Thursday, 06:30 - 16:15; potential second shift from 16:15 - 02:00 with a 23% shift premium
**Role Responsibilities
:
- Operate manual lathes and milling machines
- Read and interpret engineering drawings (metric and imperial)
- Operate small CNC lathes and milling machines
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds
- Inspect and record dimensions according to specifications
- Complete inspection documentation
- Perform daily preventive maintenance on machinery
- Work flexibly, with potential for shifts and overtime
**Experience Requirements
:
- Experience in a manual machining role
- Apprentice trained or time-served
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Skills in managing workload and problem-solving
- Proactive attitude and willingness to support the team
