Position: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Newmarket
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Full-time (5 days per week)

Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students' learning and well-being. Your role will involve assisting students individually or in small groups, promoting inclusivity, and fostering independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Student Support:

  • Work with secondary-aged pupils, providing academic and pastoral support.

  • Establish productive relationships with students, acting as a positive role model.

  • Encourage interaction and cooperation among students.

  • Promote independence and recognize self-reliance achievements.

  • Support for Teachers:

  • Assist in delivering teaching objectives.

  • Monitor student responses to learning activities.

  • Provide accurate feedback on student progress.

  • Manage the learning environment and resources effectively.

  • Support for the Curriculum:

  • Deliver learning activities, adjusting based on student needs.

  • Utilize ICT effectively to enhance learning.

  • Prepare resources tailored to student interests and backgrounds.

  • Ensure equal access to learning opportunities for all students.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a support role within a primary, secondary SEN school, or PRU.
  • Passion for helping students succeed.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
