My client are a medium-sized engineering company delivering engineering solutions to industries across europe. They are looking for a Senior Project Planner who is adept at managing and monitoring complex projects through all stages, ensuring efficient methodologies and timely delivery.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Prepare detailed cost forecasts, perform risk assessments, and manage contingency planning.
  • Implement a Project Controls Plan outlining best practices for cost control, planning, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Analyze and interpret schedule variances, identify critical paths, and manage forward loading techniques.
  • Provide Earned Value Management (EVM) data to track project progress and performance.
  • Identify project deviations and communicate these to the project team for timely mitigation.
  • Ensure all project issues and risks are highlighted, understood, and managed effectively.
  • Promote process compliance and continuous improvement across project teams.
  • Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and clients, ensuring smooth project execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Expert user of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Detailed understanding of infrastructure projects from design to commissioning.
  • Proven ability in defining clear project schedules and planning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across various engineering disciplines.
  • Deep knowledge of Project Control principles including budget management and change control.
  • Familiarity with commercial and financial aspects of project management.
  • Significant experience with NEC contracts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
