Billing Assistant

Our client advises the world's leading corporations, investment funds and financial institutions on their most critical legal needs and business opportunities. The Firm's approximately 500 lawyers are based in North America and Europe.

They are now looking to recruit a Billing Assistant. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a Legal firm and had prior Billing experience.

Responsibilities

  • General matter maintenance including time transfers and amendments to client/matter details
  • Monitoring the team's inbox
  • Maintaining a diary of billing events and ensure that these are acted upon
  • Producing draft bills, finalised bills and billing breakdowns in a multi-currency system
  • Arranging approval for write offs with the firm's Finance Committee
  • Following up with associates regarding time entry and new matters in progress
  • Inputting client invoices into various ebilling platforms/systems
  • Ensuring all billing instructions and client billing details are updated on matter maintenance. In addition, ensuring all VAT information and contact information is correct

The Candidate

  • Graduated to a good standard GCSE level or equivalent
  • Billing or billing-related experience in a legal or professional services firm required
  • 3E Experience essential
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing with personnel at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Demonstrate an ability to be self-motivated and work on own initiative when required
  • Strong attention to details skills
  • Proactive, robust and able to build strong relationships and credibility quickly with colleagues
  • Experience/knowledge of Elite 3E or similar systems is strongly preferred
