Wanted Science teachers for KS3/KS4

Can you develop and implement effective teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning needs?

Are you able to engage students by participating in science clubs, competitions, and field trips to boost their interest and involvement in science?

Do you hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/PGCE for secondary or an equivalent teaching certification?

We are in search of a committed teacher to join our team in Blackpool, providing support to KS3 and KS4 students. The role offers a daily pay rate between £155 and £230, depending on your experience, qualifications, and teaching skills.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for science education, strong communication skills, and a commitment to student achievement. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing lesson plans, assessing student progress, collaborating with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and fostering a stimulating classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Be an inspiring and engaging communicator

Personal attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
