Job Title: Freelance Site Engineer (Utilities)
About the Role:
You will be working on one of the highest profile schemes in the UK, delivering HS2. We are looking for a Utility Site Engineer to join our team to deliver multiple projects within budget and timescales, while ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing documentation to get contracts to site.
- Delivering utility diversion projects (water, gas, electric, communications).
- Setting out projects on site from inception to completion.
- Managing day-to-day site operations.
- Writing RAMS/WPPs and documentation for ITPs.
- Coordinating with surrounding works/contractors.
- Completing daily records for programme delays, attendees, and commercial issues.
- Ensuring ITPs are agreed and completed accordingly.
Requirements:
To be successful, you should have experience in the utility industry and have previously undertaken a similar role in delivering multiple utilities (at least two of the following: water, gas, electrical, communications). You should also have:
- Commercial and contract awareness.
- Excellent organisation and logistics skills.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
- Technical capability and responsibility for site teams.
Qualifications:
- SSSTS/SMSTS
- NRSWA Supervisor
- TWC (optional)
- First Aid Qualified (optional)
- Driving Licence
Key Tasks:
- Management of utility projects.
- Management of Health and Safety on site.
- Delivery of works on site in a safe and productive manner.
