An innovative food manufacturer in the Oxfordshire area is experiencing continued growth & is looking for a Production Manager to develop & improve the production department.

Description

As their Production Manager you will be instrumental in leading a team in operational success in this varied role. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the senior management to drive manufacturing excellence across the operation. You will be responsible for a production team & oversee a small dispatch team, leading from the front in order to ensure productivity & to drive processes improvement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing and monitoring the output of your teams and the overall output across all shifts.
  • Motivating the production teams, lead & develop the operational plan to meet strategic business objectives.
  • Implement production plans and meet production goals.
  • Achieving budgeted & planned outputs to meet customer service & inventory requirements.
  • Manage the capacity of the factory, maximising yield and productivity.
  • Coordinate with other departments to optimise production processes.
  • Working cross functionally in order to achieve & maintain defined standards within personnel safety, food safety, food quality & hygiene.
  • Ensure that all products being produced meet all the necessary and agreed specifications.
  • Ensure all production procedures are carried out to comply with the Quality Manual and HACCP system.
  • Working with counterparts across the supply chain, ensure deliveries/dispatches to and from site are done in a timely manner.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Improving individual & team development through effective coaching & performance management.
  • Develop your team, ensuring all staff are appropriately trained & competent in the tasks they are set and ongoing training needs are identified.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team, to develop and implement cost-effective solutions for production issues.

Profile

This a great opportunity for a Production Manager with food manufacturing looking to have full ownership of a department. They will also have:

  • Knowledge of planning & proven capability of delivering against operational KPIs
  • Experience & knowledge of lean manufacturing practice
  • Health and Safety understanding, able to embed HSE best practice into the operation
  • Food Hygiene/HACCP knowledge
  • The ability to coach & develop teams
  • Effective communication at all levels
  • Understanding of customer expectations & delivery

Job Offer

  • An annual salary ranging between £45,000 and £50,000 depending on experience.
