Robert Walters are recruiting a Regional Health & Safety Manager for a market leading Logistics giant to manage all health & safety procedures for their sites in both the Southeast, Southwest and the East of England.
Responsibilities as the Health & Safety Manager:
- Regional lead on all Health & Safety matters for the operation
- Work closely with Quality and Compliance team to ensure required standards are achieved
- Being a point of contact for enforcement authorities
- Ensuring adequate Safety, Health and Environmental guidance is provided to the site
- Controlling the input and retrieval of information to and from the companies H&S Safety software management system
- Analysis and assisting the developing action plan for the site based on accident / Incident & Claims information
- Undertaking relevant Safety, Health and Environment audits and creating action plans
Delivering and providing support in the development of Safety, Health and Environmental training requirements
- Coordinating the Safety, Health and Environmental monitoring programme to ensure legal and organisational compliance
- Assisting in the management of the site H&S committee
- Assisting in the design, implementation and management of all company safety promotions
- Contributing in the selection and development of relevant Safety, Health, Environmental trainers
- Assisting the management team in the completion of their H&S responsibilities
- Networking to ensure the sharing and obtainment of best practice within the business
As the successful Health & Safety Manager, you must have:
- Previous leadership experience within a busy Distribution / Logistics operations environment would be advantageous
- Previous H&S responsibility in a logistics, FMCG or Warehousing environment would be advantageous
- Ability to create H&S improvement plans and work to targets
- Degree Qualified desirable
- NEBOSH or IOSH would be highly advantageous
