IT Support Technician - 3 month contract initially

We are seeking an IT Support Technician to join our dynamic team at a leading educational institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure, ensuring high-quality technical support and advice, and contributing positively to the academy's ethos and vision.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Log all incidents and requests for the Academy on the IT Helpdesk System, ensuring they are prioritised and documented.
- Maintain regular communication with staff until incident resolution, monitoring progress against Service Level targets.
- Escalate incidents to the appropriate team as necessary, working with 3rd party support providers and other stakeholders to resolution.
- Identify, resolve, and/or document workarounds for problems.
- Manage the deployment of Desktops, Laptops, iPads, and mobile phones.
- Support the school's audio-visual estate, including touch screen televisions, digital signage solutions, and large-scale setups.
- Set up and maintain user and email accounts, ensuring timely distribution of credentials.
- Maintain computer peripheral equipment, ensuring hardware is tested and prepared for use.
- Carry out routine maintenance on equipment and keep inventories for IT hardware and software up to date.
- Dispose of redundant equipment securely and in line with legislation.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying IT issues.
- Assist the E-Safety Lead with monitoring student IT use and take action as required.
- Work with the Regional IT Manager to implement the Academy's IT vision and core values.
- Provide support for school events and IT maintenance tasks outside of office hours when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in IT support within an educational or similar environment.
- Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with IT Helpdesk systems and prioritising tasks.
- Experience with managing and deploying IT equipment.
- Knowledge of maintaining audio-visual and peripheral IT equipment.
- Ability to work flexibly and after office hours for events and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
