Care Home Chef - West Sussex
Working for one of the premier care home providers in the UK, you will be working in their stunning care home in Billingshurst, West Sussex. The purpose built 56-bedroom home provides residential, nursing and dementia care for old adults with a person-centred approach and is approximately a 20-minute drive from Horsham. To lead their team in the kitchen we are looking to recruit an energetic Chef who will play a crucial position in ensuring the residents receive the high-quality meals and that they meet the dietary requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation: Prepare meals to a high standard while catering to dietary requirements.
- Supervision: Manage and support kitchen assistants.
- Stock Control: Monitor and order supplies, ensuring proper storage.
- Record Keeping: Maintain risk assessments, cleaning records, and temperature logs.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with uniform and training requirements.
We are seeking an individual with:
- A fun and happy outlook on life who can work well under pressure in a busy environment.
- Previous catering experience, ideally in a care home or hotel.
- Ability to manage a small team of kitchen assistants
- Able to commute daily Billingshurst, West Sussex on a daily basis
- Happy to work 36 hours (4 shifts) over a 7-day period
- Have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship
