Career Teachers are looking to appoint a compassionate and self-motivated Class Teacher to work in a wonderful SEN school. This is a unique opportunity for a suitable candidate to progress their career by joining a talented, hardworking, and friendly team involved in developing first class provision for pupils in Key Stage 4 and above with autism and severe learning difficulties.
Some of the key qualities we are looking for are:
- Experienced and energetic practitioner with the knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, assessment, and positive behaviour management strategies to make a positive impact on the progress of pupils with autism who have learning difficulties.
- Highly motivated, innovative person with enthusiasm and commitment
- Be supported by a wider team of professionals to ensure our pupils thrive, have fun and maximise their potential.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working with students with SEND within a mainstream or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) setting is desirable, however ECTs are welcomed to apply.
- Existing DBS check on the update service
- Experience of augmentative and alternative communication (PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method) are beneficial, but not essential.
