Nursery Team Supervisor

This fantastic nursery located in the Brighton area is looking for an Nursery Team Supervisor to join their expanding team. The nursery is part of multiple nurseries across the city and has recently opened. The nurseries all hold Good to Outstanding Ofsted ratings. The nursery is very creative, offering classes including yoga, music, dance, art, languages and sports. They are open 07:30 - 18:00, Monday to Friday all weeks of the year except for one week at Christmas. The nursery offers excellent support and ongoing training for staff, enabling you to add and develop your skill set. The nursery offers training opportunities such as Leadership and Management, enabling you with genuine promotion prospects and potential career development opportunities. The nursery has a performance related pay scheme and offers competitive salaries dependant upon experience. Your new role
Your new role will be assisting the management team within the provision of the nursery, ensuring children, parents and staff work together to provide high quality care. You will have responsibility to manage a staff team effectively alongside monitoring and assessing the quality of provision ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained. A brief snapshot of your areas of responsibility will include:
- Operational Responsibility - day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliant and adhering to legislative requirements at all times
- Individual Accountability - Ensuring all staff are aware of their areas of responsibility, communicating effectively with all staff members, ensuring to maintain professional standards at all times.
- Personnel - Assist with staffing within the nursery, ensuring appropriate ratios are maintained, as well as organising temporary staff where necessary.
- Finance and Administration - Maintaining children's records to a high standard, assisting staff in carrying out observations and evaluations as well as preparing and submitting payroll amendments on a monthly basis.
- Marketing - ensuring staff deliver high quality customer service and are training to have regard for the parents/prospective parent's needs, ensuring information is communicated clearly and positively.
- Training and Development - Use regular supervisions to identify individual and nursery development needs, ensuring they are met through appropriate training. Work with staff to ensure areas for development on Individual Development Plans are worked towards at all times.
- Health and Safety - ensure the physical environment of the nursery is maintained to comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act.
- Communication - respond promptly to all communication, ensuring all centrally received communications are promptly dealt with.

What you'll need to succeed
The nursery is looking for someone that is Level 3 Qualified in Childcare and Education or equivalent. They also require that the successful candidate holds a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate. They are looking for someone for this role to start as soon as possible. You will need to have worked within a Nursery/primary/pre-prep environment in the last 2 years, that can provide a reference. You need to have a clean enhanced DBS Check on the update service or if not, the nursery will run an enhanced DBS check for you. You need to be flexible and most importantly, have a fun personality that the children will be able to engage with. It is important that you have a good understanding of children's development and their needs as well as ensuring positive management of children's behaviour.
