Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering to support our Supply Chain engineering team and drive our engineering initiatives forward. This role will be instrumental in developing scalable, stable, secure, and resilient applications that enhance the end to end supply chain experience through internal tooling, automation, and full-stack engineering practices.

As the Head of Engineering at Holland and Barrett, you will embark on an exciting journey as the visionary leader of our dynamic engineering teams, guiding them towards achieving our ambitious goals. You will champion the development and implementation of cutting-edge engineering solutions, partnering with the Head of Product for Supply Chain and our business partners that propel us towards our company objectives, driving innovation at every turn.

You will deeply understand our company direction and translate them into actionable technical requirements, paving the way for transformative solutions. Cultivating a culture of relentless improvement and forward thinking within our engineering teams, you will ensure creativity and innovation flourish in a fast-paced environment, while also influence our Product and Business partners in delivering the highest value outcomes.

  • Flexibility in adapting to various technologies and willingness to learn new tools and methodologies.
  • You'll lead software engineering managers and teams, driving our technology strategy.
  • Mentoring team members will be key, fostering a culture of accountability, customer impact, and business improvement.
  • Collaborating closely with Product & Data teams, you'll ensure effective problem-solving and alignment of outcomes.
  • Play a strategic role in providing direction that will align supply chain initiatives with our goals for customer success
  • Fostering an Engineering Excellence culture, you'll support teams' success and stay updated on emerging technologies.
  • Promoting collaboration across departments and stable processes, you'll empower team members for overall success.

Key requirements:

What we're looking for:

  • Strong technical expertise in engineering, with previous hands-on experience across a broad tech stack.
  • Proven ability to drive engineering culture and innovation within an organization.
  • Persuasive personality with excellent influencing skills to foster a culture of innovation and thinking differently.
  • Experience in consulting on quality aspects, ensuring code quality and problem-solving skills meet industry standards.
  • Strong experiencein driving agile practices and the ability to transform legacy working methods.
  • Supply chain experience, particularly in supply and demand management, forecasting, and distribution center operations.
  • Commercial forecasting experience, with the ability to balance supply and demand against financial forecasting.
