We are seeking a dedicated Premises Officer to join our team. This role requires a reliable individual who can manage the opening and closing of the college, supervise the site, and perform maintenance tasks.
A driving licence is essential as occasional travel to other sites are required.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Perform key holding duties, including opening and closing the college at specified times.
- Supervise the site to prevent trespass, unauthorised parking, and unsafe practices.
- Respond to emergency call-outs outside of normal working hours.
- Conduct building maintenance and repair work under the direction of the Premises Manager and report on the need for specialist repairs.
- Use SharePoint helpdesk to monitor and complete Facilities requests at least twice a day.
- Report illegal entries or vandalism to the College Keeper and, where required, to the police.
- Act as Fire Warden and operate heating plant, Fire Panel, and Security Alarm Panel.
- Ensure daily cleanliness of all exterior hard surface areas, including litter bins, and keep gulleys and drains clear.
- Handle bursts, leaks, fires, breakages, and spillages as necessary.
- Conduct regular inspections of service appliances for repair or reporting.
- Monitor tradesmen on site to ensure correct identification and deployment.
- Support the Premises team during college events, including moving furniture and other ad hoc requirements.
- Assist the College Keeper in monitoring cleaning and other contracted services.
- Perform porter duties, including handling college deliveries and restocking general toiletry supplies.
- Maintain weekly stock reports and assist with grounds maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and statutory duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid driving licence (essential).
- Experience in building maintenance or a similar role.
- Competency in using SharePoint and other relevant software.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety and cleanliness standards.
