Credit Controller

- Salary: £26,000-£32,000
We are seeking a Credit Controller to join our client's team on a temporary, full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maximising cash collection, reducing aged debt, and managing credit limits to support the business. A background in shipping or haulage is preferred, and the ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment is essential.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Monitor all accounts daily to ensure efficient credit control.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to facilitate payment terms.
- Chase customers via email or telephone to ensure adherence to credit terms.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure collections align with company requirements.
- Prioritise and proactively chase debt, escalating issues where necessary.
- Accurately and promptly allocate cash receipts.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support including issuing statements and copying invoices.
- Find proactive solutions to operational issues in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborate across the business with Customer Service, Commercial, and Sales teams to bring relevant data that drives improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Credit Control, with a preference for those with a shipping/haulage background.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organised and thorough approach to tasks.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Competent in making decisions and adapting to change.
- Ability to identify potential problems and implement solutions.
- Good Microsoft Office 365 skills, particularly in Outlook, Excel, and Word
