Accounts Receivable Manager Role Overview:

NC Associates are representing a fast growing Northwest business who are a leader in their field with a requirement for an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager. This will initially be a 12 month contract to oversee a growing team of 4 members of staff who are responsible for the group (8 businesses) Accounts Receivable function. Experience from a larger group business is preferable as is proven experience of system implementations and developments (previous use Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly advantageous)

This is an excellent opportunity to support a highly impressive business through a period of growth. Although the contract will initially be for 12 months, there is a strong potential for this position to extend/ become permanent inline with company growth plans.

Accounts Receivable Manager Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Accounts Receivable team to ensure accurate and timely invoices are issued to clients.
  • Ensuring that regular statements and reminders regarding outstanding balances are sent out by the team.
  • Monitoring and tracking client accounts to ensure timely payments.
  • Identifying and addressing late payments. Managing escalated queries or problematic accounts promptly.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
  • Ensuring regular communication with clients is maintained and that outstanding balances are proactively monitored.
  • Generating and analysing aged debt reports.
  • Providing regular updates to senior management on bad debt provisions.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and credit control policies.
  • Collaborating with legal counsel if legal action is required.
  • Continuously evaluating and improving Accounts Receivable processes and ways of working
  • Motivating and developing the team, providing additional training as required.
  • Proactively supporting systems improvements to enhance efficiencies.
  • Conducting 121s with the team and putting development plans in place.
  • Implementing and communicating best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Accounts Receivable Manager Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Receivable Manager/ Supervisor capacity – ideally within a larger group business environment.
  • Proven experience of developing processes and systems within a growing business.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to motivate a team and drive success.
  • A strong analytical ability with previous experience of delivering reporting to senior business members.
  • Advanced proficiency in using Excel and financial software (Previous experience of using Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly advantageous)
  • The ability to oversee a team to meet strict time deadlines.
  • A proactive and results focussed mentality and leadership style.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous experience of managing appraisals and one to ones.
  • The ability to commit to a 12-month contract.
  • Construction industry experience is highly advantageous.
  • This will be an office-based role (1 day per week WFH) and so applicants must be able to commute to Stockport.
