Data Analyst

- Working Hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday Hybrid
Reed Crawley is supporting with the recruitment for a temporary Data Analyst to support the finance function of a key client based in Burgess Hill, ensuring shipment data is accurately recorded for precise customer invoicing and profit reporting. This role is ideal for a numerate, logical thinker who excels in data manipulation and variance investigation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Import and manipulate large volumes of carrier data, investigating variances between invoiced charges and accruals within internal systems.
- Validate carrier charges against agreed tariffs and take corrective actions to ensure accurate cost accruals and customer pricing.
- Support the wider finance team with ad hoc projects, administration, and requests.
- Actively participate in continuous process improvement projects, seeking to develop current working processes.
- Provide management information as requested.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, including functions such as lookups, pivot tables, and IF statements.
- Proven experience in manipulating data, reporting, and problem-solving in Excel.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- An effective problem solver who enjoys seeing tasks through to completion.
- Experience working in a process-driven environment and becoming an expert in their field.
- Ability to prioritise, manage own workload, and work to tight deadlines.
- Team player with the ability to work successfully as part of a larger team.
- Knowledge of the logistics industry, reconciliation, and experience dealing with couriers and industry suppliers is desirable but not essential.
