Our client is a leading main Contractor with a positive track record in the delivery of high end and complex refurbishment and fitout projects across the UK. With multiple projects onsite in Edinburgh, they are now seeking to appoint a Project Director to manage the delivery of these projects. Our client has an exceptionally strong pipeline of work in Scotland and can offer a long-term and sustainable career path to a senior construction professional seeking to take their career into senior leadership.
Your new role
As Project Director, you will be responsible for the delivery of multiple projects across this space. These projects are refurbishment in nature and will encompass both construction and fitout elements and are typically in the range of £5million to £30million in value. You will be responsible for the operational delivery of these projects from managing your team of PM's and Site Managers to working closely with your commercial and procurement team to ensure the projects are progressing in line with commercial targets. Reporting to the Operations Director and liaising closely with your clients, you will be part of the senior leadership group with the opportunity to get involved in the strategic direction of the business as you settle in.
What you'll need to succeed
Our client is seeking to appoint a well-rounded construction professional with deep expertise in heavy refurbishment, construction and fitout. You will have worked as a project manager previously and have demonstrated expertise in the delivery of complex, challenging construction projects. You will have a strong understanding of typical construction contracts and be commercially aware of how to drive efficiency and profitability in your projects whilst maintaining a positive relationship with key external stakeholders. This is a senior leadership role, and you must be capable of motivating and engaging your site team based on your competency, communication skills and work ethic.
