This recognisable, household name charity is currently seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their collaborative team on a permanent basis. Reporting into an excellent Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for the financial management of their own directorate, helping a variety of stakeholders to deliver targets in line with strategic requirements.

The key duties of this Assistant Management Accountant are as follows:

  • Business partner with a range of budget holders across your directorate to provide analysis and sound financial advice to aid decision making.
  • Full responsibility for reviewing financial performance of all services across your directorate through in-depth financial analysis, writing supporting commentaries and challenging spends/assumptions as required.
  • Work closely with your stakeholders to set annual budgets and forecasts and feed the final results into the regional budget reports.
  • Take the lead in the delivery of training to your budget holders to enhance their financial understanding, tailoring your approach to meet their varying levels of understanding.
  • Deputise for the Finance Manager in the presentation of reports at the monthly board meetings

This role will officially be based out of their offices in Birmingham, with regular travel will be required across various sites in the Midlands, although opportunities to work from home are on offer for an average of 2-3 days per week.

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least part qualified as an accountancy professional, and still be actively studying.
  • Previous experience working in a management accounting capacity or similar.
  • Strong monthly reporting and debits and credits experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A full driving licence and access to their own car.
