We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher to join our team in South West London starting this September. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about English literature and language and is eager to contribute to the academic and personal growth of our students.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Deliver a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated English curriculum to students.
  • Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher and form tutor.
  • Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which enables students to achieve their individual potential.
  • Contribute to raising standards of student attainment and share the academy's commitment to providing opportunities for personal and academic growth.
  • Engage in operational and strategic planning, including lesson planning, developing resources, and contributing to the departmental plan.
  • Maintain appropriate records, track student progress, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Experience in teaching at secondary level, ideally including in multi-ethnic urban schools and within an 11-18 school setting.
  • Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies and the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students.
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and develop positive relationships with all staff.
  • Proficient ICT skills, including the innovative use of interactive whiteboards.
  • Ability to create a motivating and safe learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Effective leadership and time management skills.
  • Ability to motivate students and raise their aspirations.
