Purpose of role:

Are you a skilled insurance professional with the ability for design tailored insurance solutions?

This Edinburgh based insurance broker with a reputation for delivering bespoke insurance programmes to clients, both large and small is looking for a commercial insurance broker to join their team of technical insurance broking professionals.

If you would like to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional insurance solutions to clients, this could be the role for you.

Key responsibilities:

  • Keeping the customer at the centre of the commercial insurance broking process.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Understanding the insurance needs of customers and putting into effect the right level of protection to meet those needs.
  • Growing new and existing client and insurer relationships.
  • Work closely with Board and Account Executives to provide advice.
  • Act as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance.
  • Work within agreed compliance and regulation guidelines.
  • Handling new and existing commercial insurance risks.
  • Dealing with quotations, renewals, MTA's, policy issue, etc.
  • Assist in driving a high performing culture.
  • Understanding a client or prospect's business, situations, opportunities, and key challenges.
  • Managing senior relationships and negotiate complex placements with the insurance market.

Experience:

  • Experience within the commercial insurance broking marketplace.
  • Knowledge of most cross classes of commercial insurance risk.
  • Ability to identify appropriate placing markets.
  • Experience of pricing and designing programmes.
  • Grow new and existing client and insurer relationships.
  • Work closely with Board and Account Executives to provide advice.
  • Preferably CII qualified or working towards the CII qualification.
  • A good knowledge of the insurance market in order to address client and technical issues.
  • Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent technical skills.
  • Good presentation abilities.
  • Act as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance.
  • Work within agreed compliance and regulation guidelines.
  • Assist in driving a high performing culture.
  • Ability to understand a client or prospect's business, situations, opportunities, and key challenges.
  • Ability to manage senior relationships and negotiate complex placements with the insurance market.
