This Edinburgh based insurance broker with a reputation for delivering bespoke insurance programmes to clients, both large and small is looking for a commercial insurance broker to join their team of technical insurance broking professionals.

Key responsibilities:
- Keeping the customer at the centre of the commercial insurance broking process.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Understanding the insurance needs of customers and putting into effect the right level of protection to meet those needs.
- Growing new and existing client and insurer relationships.
- Work closely with Board and Account Executives to provide advice.
- Act as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance.
- Work within agreed compliance and regulation guidelines.
- Handling new and existing commercial insurance risks.
- Dealing with quotations, renewals, MTA's, policy issue, etc.
- Assist in driving a high performing culture.
- Understanding a client or prospect's business, situations, opportunities, and key challenges.
- Managing senior relationships and negotiate complex placements with the insurance market.
Experience:
- Experience within the commercial insurance broking marketplace.
- Knowledge of most cross classes of commercial insurance risk.
- Ability to identify appropriate placing markets.
- Experience of pricing and designing programmes.
- Grow new and existing client and insurer relationships.
- Work closely with Board and Account Executives to provide advice.
- Preferably CII qualified or working towards the CII qualification.
- A good knowledge of the insurance market in order to address client and technical issues.
- Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent technical skills.
- Good presentation abilities.
- Act as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance.
