Job Title: Assistant Headteacher with whole school responsibility for T&L
Location: Woodside Park, Penge, London
Salary: Up to £50,000.00 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
We now have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher with whole school responsibility for T&L to join our close-knit team at Woodside Park, part of Acorn Education.
About the role
The Assistant Headteacher will take lead for the whole school responsibility for Teaching & Learning ensuring the best possible curriculum offer, provision, well-being, progress and achievement for all pupils through careful monitoring and holding staff to account for the progress their pupils make.
As part of their Teaching Responsibilities, they will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupil's achievement and ability to develop, supported by the school and Outcomes First Group's national support team. The Assistant Headteacher will be a subject specialist in either Maths, English or Science.
Essential
- Experience of Ofsted framework and inspection
- Experience of working with pupils/young people with SEMH
- Experience of managing staff
- Experience of leading one or more curriculum areas
- Ability to motivate a team and individuals
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Qualifications
- QTS or QTLS
- Nationally Recognised Degree
- NPQ or working towards

Our new Acorn School - Woodside Park located in Penge, South East London. The school will have capacity for 34 pupils ages 5-16 years old and is due to open April 2025. The school will be a co-educational provision for pupils with complex needs including SEMH.
