Process Chemist
- Location: west Suffolk, near Cambridgeshire
- Full-time and permanent position
- 4 days on, 4 days off, 12h shift (including weekends)
- Start: ASAP
Reed Scientific are partnering with a chemical manufacturer and distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients to multiple European markets. They are now looking for an experienced chemist with chemical hazards awareness and experience working under Health & Safety & Environment procedures and handling chemicals.
Main responsibilities:
- Handling raw materials and finished products in accordance with Health & Safety procedures
- Following SOPs to carry out chemical production processes of materials
- Monitoring the equipment and processes, as well as recording data and reporting any issues
- Packing finished products and re-packaging of materials
- Chemical waste disposal
- Working in accordance with 5S methodology
Requirements:
- Previous experience working under Health & Safety & Environment procedures and handling chemicals
- Chemical hazards awareness
- Understanding of COSHH, manual handling training, experience working to 5S standards and lean manufacturing techniques would be an advantage
- Good communication skills and IT competency
