Job Title: VAT Manager - In house - Financial Services

Overview:
An international insurance company are seeking an experienced VAT Manager to oversee all VAT-related functions within the company. The role involves ensuring compliance with VAT regulations, optimising VAT processes, and providing expert advice on VAT matters specific to the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:

VAT Compliance:

Manage and submit accurate VAT returns on time.

Ensure compliance with VAT laws and adapt to changes in legislation.

VAT Advisory:

Advise on VAT implications for products, services, and transactions.

Collaborate with internal teams on VAT-related issues in contracts and business initiatives.

Audit & Risk Management:

Lead VAT audits and manage interactions with tax authorities.

Implement risk management strategies to mitigate VAT-related risks.

Process Improvement:
-
Streamline VAT reporting processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Integrate VAT considerations into broader financial processes.

Training & Knowledge Sharing:

Provide VAT training and updates to internal teams.
Qualifications:
- Relevant accounting and/or tax certification.
Skills & Experience:
- Preferably trained with a Big-4 firm.
- At least five years of specialised experience in VAT.
- Familiarity with VAT regulations for international insurance services is advantageous.
- Proven track record in enhancing and managing VAT processes and controls.
- Ability to work within the UK
