IT Technician Apprentice

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior First Line Service Desk Technician to join our committed IT Service Desk team and to provide high-quality support to our small to medium-sized customers, who principally operate within creative industries such as film and fashion.

Vacancy Description:

Rubicon-IT is a Managed IT Service provider and solutions company based in North Hampshire. Our primary focus is to provide Managed IT services to customers across London and the South East.

  • Serve as the initial point of contact on our Service Desk, responsible for incoming telephone calls & email inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure all customer interactions are handled courteously and efficiently.
  • Qualify new support requests ensuring detailed information is gathered.
  • Provide remote support for various software and hardware services including Macs, PCs, Active Directory, VPN, Google & MS Office suites, Antivirus, VPN, macOS & Windows Operating Systems.
  • Performing backup monitoring checks and monitoring system alert requests.
  • Maintain service levels and deliver high-quality support.
  • Contribute to the creation and upkeep of Service Desk knowledge-based articles

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, someone who is confident talking to customers using the phone.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with technology/IT at a basic level.
  • Prior experience working in an office or similar environment.

Entry Requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
