About the role

We're looking for a Finance Manager/ Finance system Expert to join the Finance Development team in Boots UK. The Finance Manager/ Finance system Expert role is to coordinate and lead projects from design to successful implementation ensuring financial processes and controls are understood and adhered to, and opportunities are exploited. Their prime responsibility is to ensure that the business improvements/changes are fit for purpose and delivered to time, cost, quality, scope, achieving maximum business benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the design, testing and implementation of projects, including business readiness activities, bringing efficiency and greater controls to financial processes.
  • Coach business project team members in the standard management processes and templates required to satisfy Agile and Unified/Waterfall project methodology – including business process mapping, user acceptance testing, internal controls, RAID assessments, project planning, financial reviews and benefits realisation.
  • Monitor plans, holding IT partners to account and developing recovery plans where needed.
  • Manage relationships with senior stakeholders and project teams; ensuring high levels of engagement and partnering on change impacts and value assessments.
  • Ensure Project governance is followed and auditable.
  • Continuous improvement mindset

What you'll need to have

  • Experience of cross functional Agile/Waterfall project delivery.
  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or relevant experience of finance processes.
  • Experience of SAP and finance change
  • Strong ability to engage and influence others at all levels of the organisation.
