I am looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a small village school in Weston-Super-Mare. From September the school is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work throughout their year 3 class to work with children in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

As a 1 form entry Primary School, the school pride themselves on supporting one another throughout the school day, working together to give their students the best possible learning experience.

The Role

This role is a position to start from September on a fixed contract for the academic year.

The Head Teacher is looking for someone to work on a full-time basis (term time only), working closely with the Class Teacher to set up resources and adapt activities to support individual learners.

They are looking for someone who has a great understanding of the Primary Curriculum, someone who can take advise from other members of the staff but also use their initiative, building a strong relationship with the pupil to adapt environments and lessons based on their emotional and educational state.

You will be expected to:

  • Hold high expectations for children's development.
  • Have great experience of positive behaviour management.
  • Communicate clearly with the Class Teacher when assessing children's development
  • Create a positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively to support interventions.
