We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join our client's team. This role involves planning and manufacturing bespoke and production batches of sheet metal components/fabrications, operating various tools and machines, and ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and specifications. Day to Day of the role:

  • Interpret engineering drawings to determine the fabrication, joining, and assembly of sheet metal components.
  • Utilise dimensional tools such as rulers, calculators, and set squares to ensure part and batch compliance with customer drawings.
  • Set and operate hydraulic press brakes.
  • Fasten and join seams in sheet metal using solder, welds, inserts, etc., ensuring durability and quality of work.
  • Assemble individual metal components according to customer specifications and drawings.
  • Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file, and grind metal surfaces and joints for safety and appearance.
  • Select the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal for projects based on specifications.
  • Prioritise safety during all manufacturing processes and maintain a clean and tidy workspace.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in the manufacture and assembly of sheet metal components/fabrications.
  • A good level of core academic subjects (GCSE level or above).
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and tools.
  • Must be able to read and interpret customer drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
