We are seeking to recruit a Disrepair Supervisor to be based in out Southgate office to cover Enfield, Waltham Abbey areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Team which provides in house repairs and maintenance service companywide, involving over 200 people focused on delivering repairs and planned improvements to more than 26,000 homes. This is a critical role requiring a candidate with exceptional knowledge of housing repairs and disrepair. The position is a nine/twelve -month contract with a competitive hourly rate, ideal for a dedicated professional looking to make a significant impact in a short period.

This role will require you to be responsible for the supervision of a team of operatives, ensuring that the services provided are in line with the KPIs and set strategy. Being fully compliant with legislative, regulatory, contractual, budgetary and policy constraints. You will ensure work complies with current statutory and non-statutory legislation, adhering to our SHE system and ensuring that Gas safe and EIC / NIC membership and compliance are maintained.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee and coordinate the repair workstreams, ensuring all activities comply with industry standards and organisational policies.
  • Supervise repair teams, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and efficiency.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess the quality of repairs and identify any instances of disrepair.
  • Liaise with contractors, tenants, and internal teams to facilitate smooth operations and effective communication.
  • Manage and monitor repair schedules, ensuring timely completion of work and adherence to set budgets.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice on housing repairs and disrepair matters.
  • Prepare and present reports on the progress and outcomes of repair projects.

You must possess.

  • Proven experience as a Repairs Supervisor within the housing sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of housing repairs and disrepair processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Proficient in planning, organising, and prioritising workloads.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Relevant qualifications in building, construction, or a related field are desirable.
  • Experience in delivering a quality repairs service in a partnership working environment
  • High level of technical knowledge and diagnosis skills in a housing maintenance environment
  • Working knowledge of SHE regulations including CDM, Asbestos and all other regulations relating to the delivery of building maintenance work
  • Ability to communicate in both verbal and written form
  • Able to manage problems and identify solutions
  • Able to use IT systems, databases, and Microsoft office
  • Able to stay calm under pressure
  • Full driving licence
  • Proven trade background and qualifications, such as NVQ/City and Guilds apprenticeship Site Safety Management Training Scheme
  • Institute of Leadership and Management qualification / demonstrable supervisory experience
  • Experience of using database systems (Northgate Housing Management System / Dynamic Resource System)
  • To work flexible working patterns as agreed by management
