Teaching Assistant

Tempest Education are seeking to appoint determined teaching assistant to join a friendly staff team in a primary school in Greenwich. This is a permanent position which will commence as soon as possible. Our primary schools we work in partnership with are looking for teaching professionals who have a strong willingness to progress childrens learning on a day-to-day basis.

In this role, your main responsibility will be working alongside the class teacher and supporting children with special educational needs (SEN). You're highly encouraged to apply for this role if you have worked with children/young adults with special needs, within and outside of education settings.

Day to day role of a teaching assistant:

  • Working alongside the class teacher and supporting the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum and the management of the classroom
  • Supporting children with special needs - i.e autism, ADHD and SEMH
  • Working 1:1 and within small groups of children
  • Progressing childrens learning

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young children
  • Experience with working within a primary school
  • Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Can do attitude
  • DBS on the update service
