Support Worker
We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join a team of Social Workers and Personal Advisors within the the Young Refugee Team - Leaving Care Service at Sheffield.
POSITION DETAILS
- 37 hours per week
- Initial 6 month contract, with the possibility of extension
PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role includes supporting the young people to have the skills to live independently ensuring housing, budgeting and health and wellbeing for example are key to successful and safe integration into the community.
Support worker tasks will include:
- Setting up home allowance (SUHA)
- Shopping and explaining bills
- Ensuring a young person understands travel etc in a new city
The team is made up of a combination of Social Workers and Personal Advisors who are responsible for undertaking age assessments, health assessments, single assessments and present information to Legal Gateway.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- You must have experience working with children, young people and families
- You must have a valid UK driving license
