iMultiply are delighted to be working exclusively on a Part-Time Chartered Accountant (8 hours, ideally across 2 days) position based in Edinburgh.
The Company
This SME have grown significantly since inception and have done so with heritage and tradition at their core. With a dramatic increase in revenue in the past 24 month they are about to enter a new exciting era of their business and are looking to bring in an accurate and detail-orientated individual to help them on this journey.
The Role
The Chartered Accountant position will require you to maintain internal finances, ranging from transactional duties, up to the production of management accounts. You will also work closely with the Company Directors to provide real-time information to support commercial decisions and strategy. To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a proven track record as an all-round accountancy professional, preferably within an SME.
On Offer
The position of Part-time Accountant (8 hours, ideally across 2 days) will offer a salary in the region of £50,000 pro rata. The premises are based in Edinburgh City Centre, easily assessable via public transport with parking also available on site.
You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:
- Production of monthly management accounts
- Assisting with statutory accounts including liaising with external Accountants
- Processing journals, accruals and prepayments
- Preparing Quarterly VAT Submissions
- Investigating and resolving any problems in the accounting processes that may be producing anomalies and inaccuracies in the figures, with particular attention to stock figures
- Producing varying one-off financial reports required by the directors, using data from Sage
- Occasionally attend, or prepare figures for, meetings with a director with key customers where sales analysis being discussed
- Manage company funds including foreign currency deposits required for future purchasing of packaging overseas
- Cash flow forecasting and preparation of other information as and when required for applications for grant funding etc.
- Fixed asset Register
- Managing and monitoring payment gateways (online payments), including checking for fraudulent activity
- Posting Sales Information to Sage from various sales channels
- Oversight of small payroll, administered by HR and an external provider.
To be considered for this role you must have the following experience:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ICAS, CIMA or ACCA)
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of financial system sage
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office including Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
